PRISM GOES EAST!

As a result of the growing interest in PRISM Brain mapping in the Far East and Australia, a new company, ZENLINKS Ltd has been formed in Hong Kong to distribute and support the provision of the product throughout the Region, including China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Thailand. The company’s management team bring a wealth of knowledge to the new business, not only from their years of experience in the region working at all commercial levels, but also from their well established track record of providing very high quality training, coaching and HR services to businesses in these countries.

The first Practitioners Certification Programme will be held in Hong Kong in November and it is intended to translate PRISM into basic Chinese, Japanese and Korean to cater more effectively for the local markets. This opportunity to introduce PRISM to the emerging markets of China and other Pacific Rim countries is particularly challenging and exciting. At a time when major economies have floundered since the global financial crisis took hold, markets in this area have gone from strength to strength boasting enormous opportunities for the future.

PRISM GOES EAST!

ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE INVENTORY

The ‘Organisational Culture Inventory’ is designed to provide businesses with insights into the ways in which they go about their day-to-day operations and thus enable them to achieve a better understanding of the nature and likely impact of their working culture.

Responses to the questionnaire help to highlight attitudes and values, and provide a springboard to greater effectiveness. The Inventory is a very powerful tool, but its true potential can only be achieved if those completing it do so with total honesty.

TEAM PERFORMANCE INDICATOR

The PRISM Team Performance Indicator is a powerful, web-based tool for identifying and enhancing the performance of a team. It uses anonymous, objective feedback from team members and others to measure how effectively a team is working, and to identify and prioritise areas for improvement.

The Indicator measures the following performance areas: Objectives and Strategies, Driving Change, Drive for Results, Accountability, Decision Making, Team Cohesion, Trust, Valuing Diversity, Team Spirit, Communication, Handling Feedback, Positive Outlook.

The Indicator also measures how effectively the team achieves its results (‘team effectiveness’) and the degree of support which members receive from each other and from the organisation as a whole (‘team climate’).  It focuses on two fundamental drivers: the team’s drive for the achievement of its objectives and its drive to create and maintain effective relationships, both internally and externally.

The Indicator generates a highly graphic, 360-degree view of the team’s performance, by including not only the views of team members, but also those of the team leader and external sources such as customers or other users of the team’s services. It also indentifies opportunities to improve performance.  Because it is anonymous, team members tend to be more open and honest in their feedback.

To be fully effective, the Indicator should be used as a regular means of monitoring and updating team performance.

The PRISM Team Performance Indicator is not yet available on-line, so please contact Charles on 01892 535432 for further information on how to access and administer this tool.

TEAM PERFORMANCE INDICATOR

THE 8TH DIMENSION

PRISM has added an 8th dimension to the Emotional Intelligence Report - Relationship Management.

A low preference intensity in this range may have a tendency to be independent and self-reliant, and prefer to take decisions on their own without seeking the involvement of others. They may also have a tendency to be rather self absorbed and not particularly interested in other people’s problems and find it difficult to listen to what they have to say.

A mid-range preference intensity in this range could indicate that, although the individual can adopt a democratic or participative approach, they can also be insensitive to the emotional needs of others and fail to involve them or to seek their opinions. As a result, they can, on occasions, come across in a less than positive manner and not get the best out of people.

A high preference intensity in this have a strong democratic style and are good at meeting the emotional needs of others by managing relationships with them effectively and by building rapport with them in such a way that they feel valued. They believe that it is important to involve others as a means of gaining their commitment.

360 FEEDBACK ENHANCEMENTS

We are proposing to enhance the current PRISM 360 degree process to enable it to involve a greater number of observers and to increase the number of factors measured by the process.  The current questionnaire will be upgraded to enable up to 26 inputs to be recorded, including those of the candidate and line manager.  This makes provision for a maximum of a further 24 observers.  For example a 360 degree feedback session could include: the candidate, the line manager and up to four groups or categories of observer.  The number and title of observer groups will be at the discretion of the person initiating the review.

With this in mind the PRISM wheel chart will be modified to enable the following 'maps' to be displayed:

  • The candidate (Blue map)
  • The line manager (Red map)
  • The average of all observers' views, or the relevant scores of up to 4 groups of observers (Various Colours).

There will be a new generic management competency set available to all, which will contain 20 major competencies. Each major competency will be made up of five dimensions, each of which are scored separately to create a single score for each competency.

If you have any suggestions or comments on enhancing the 360 degree feedback process then please contact either Colin or Charles on 01892 535432.
